- A comfortable spot to sit or stand. You never need to walk; a little room to lean from side to side is enough.
Frequently asked questions
How do I line ships up?
Every strike starts at your eyes and passes through the ship you pinch, so what's behind it depends on where your head is. Lean slowly left and right, or rise and sink a little, and watch the ships behind the one you're looking at slide in and out of line. When two or more are lined up from where you are, they glow white; lines of three or more also show ×3, ×4, and so on.
Formations move, too: rings spin and walls sway, so a line you can't reach now often comes to you a moment later. Training walks you through all of it.
It's too hard. Can I make it easier?
Yes. Choose Easy under Play: slower dives, five shields, and a more forgiving strike line. Normal is the default, and Hard is for when you want it relentless. The four Practice lessons teach lining ships up, every kind of ship and the power-ups, and Zen mode has no dives at all. Moving the battlefield closer (Settings) makes ships bigger and lines easier to see, and Line Assist shows which ships a strike would take.
What accessibility options are there?
If leaning is hard for you, turn on Less Leaning in Settings: every line lines up from half as far to the side, so small head movements are enough (those runs stay off the leaderboards, like Easy). Line Assist, a closer battlefield, Easy and Zen help too, and you can pause any time.
Depth Strike follows your Vision Pro's accessibility settings. With Dim Flashing Lights, explosions and bombs flash at a fraction of their brightness. With Reduce Motion, the menu's title holds still, bomb blasts don't sweep across your view, and the rift turns slowly. Increase Contrast and Reduce Transparency make the in-game panels solid. The menus work with VoiceOver. Ships differ by shape as well as color, and every sound cue has something to see: a banner, a marker or a countdown.
The game appeared off to one side, or too high or too low.
The arena centers on wherever you're facing on "Go", at the end of the 3-2-1 countdown before every run. Face forward in a comfortable position during the countdown; if you've moved since, choose Restart from the pause menu. If the whole scene is off, press and hold the Digital Crown to recenter, then restart.
Is it comfortable to play seated?
Yes, seated or standing. All the action is in front of you, the view never moves on its own, and you never need to turn around or walk. Ships that break through veer off to the side before they get close to your face. If things feel too close or too far away, change Battlefield in the menu.
How do power-ups work?
Power-ups float out of the rift and drift across the formation, each labeled with what it does. Strike one to collect it: pinch it directly, or line it up behind other ships and take it with the same strike for a bonus. Weapons and specials last a few seconds and show a timer next to your shields; you hold one weapon at a time. Shields and bombs work the moment you take them. The Legend (in the menu under Practice, or Pause › Legend during a game) shows every one as a 3D model you can tap. Practice › Power-ups walks through all nineteen, and Power Surge mode sends them constantly.
What do the green, lilac, orange and blue ships do?
Bastions (green hexagons) carry a shell: the first strike to reach one breaks the shell and stops there, so crack it first or make it the last ship in your line. Phantoms (lilac crescents) fade out of phase every few seconds, and strikes pass straight through them while they're faded. Bursters (orange spikes) explode when destroyed and take the ships around them along. Wardens (blue rings) shield the ships near them until the Warden is destroyed. The Legend (on the menu, or Pause › Legend) shows every ship in 3D.
What's the Campaign, and what are the crystals?
The Campaign is 36 challenges in six chapters, each a run of hand-built scenes with a twist: hidden lines, crystal walls, armored ships, ghosts, weapons that never run out. Each has three stars: one for clearing it and one for each objective. A briefing before every challenge tells you what it asks and exactly what each star takes. Clearing a challenge opens the next; stuck after three tries, you can skip ahead and come back to it later. The pale crystals are obstacles: a strike stops dead when it hits one, so lean until you can see past it.
Can I play the arcade modes somewhere else?
Yes. Every mode has a place of its own, and Campaign stars open up more: pick one from the Places menu on the Play page to play every arcade mode there, or go on a Journey, which moves you to a new place (and a new soundtrack) after every Formation Break. The Journey opens at 6 stars, and each place after that at a few more.
Does Depth Strike use Game Center?
Yes, if you're signed in to Game Center on your Vision Pro. Your best scores go on a leaderboard for each arcade mode (runs on Easy don't count) and for Campaign stars, and there are achievements to earn. The trophy button at the bottom of the menu opens them. If you're not signed in, nothing is sent, and anything you earn is kept on your Vision Pro until you are. See the privacy policy.
What happens when a ship gets through?
A ship that crosses the line in front of you is a breach: the window cracks where it got through, it costs a shield (the diamonds at the top right), and your score multiplier resets. The crack stays until a Repair brings the shield back. Lose every shield and the run ends. A Barrier absorbs one breach for you, Aegis blocks everything for a few seconds, and a Deflector sends ships back into their own formation.
How do I pause or quit?
Look at the pause button on the right-hand panel and pinch. From there you can resume, restart, change the volume, or return to the menu (to switch modes). Pressing the Digital Crown also pauses the game.
Does Depth Strike track my eyes?
No. visionOS never tells apps where you're looking. When you pinch, the system tells the game which ship you selected, and nothing more. The game does use your head's position while you play to work out which ships are lined up, but only on your device, in the moment. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere. See the privacy policy.
How do I reset my high scores?
Your scores, Campaign stars and settings are stored only on your Vision Pro. To start fresh, delete Depth Strike and install it again. (If you're signed in to Game Center, it keeps your leaderboard scores and achievements separately.)
I can't hear anything.
Check the volume with the Digital Crown and make sure your Vision Pro isn't in silent mode. The pause panel and the menu's Settings each have a volume slider for the music and one for the sound effects, and the speaker button at the bottom of the menu turns the soundtrack off. The soundtrack also stays quiet while another app is playing audio, so it doesn't talk over your own music.
